If you've lived or spent time in the Yukon over the last year, you've likely come across the Yukoners Concerned's petition urging the Government for a permanent ban on fracking in the territory.
The unprecedented success of this petition can be attributed to the gracious efforts of numerous members of the Yukon community; from those who have displayed the petition on the counters of their cafes, restaurants, shops and cultural establishments, to the many Yukoners Concerned members who have spent over a year canvassing door-to-door, to last but not least, those of you who have contributed to the 8,000 signatures.
As of April 2015, more than 8,000 signatures have been collected - but we're not done yet! We're going global with the petition, asking others around the world to speak up and help preserve one of the last great untouched wilderness places.
The petition can now be found online on the popular web-based campaigning community, Avaaz.
Help secure a frack-free Yukon and sign the petition today.
(If you've already signed the petition that's currently circulating around the Yukon, please do not sign again. We thank you for your contribution to Yukon's sustainable future)
